KUCHING: A mass free anti-rabies vaccination programme by the Serian Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak (DVSS) will be held on May 13 for pet dogs in Siburan and Serian here.

According to DVSS in its Facebook post, the programme will be from 9.30 am to 4  pm at Dewan Pertubuhan Meninggikan Akhlak Che Hoe Khor, Siburan.

The department said pet owners who wish to get their pets vaccinated must ensure that their dogs are above three months old and healthy.

“Please prepare the owner’s IC and pet’s vaccination card (if any).

“After your dog is vaccinated, please be reminded to quarantine and isolate your pet dog for 28 days to allow immunity against rabies to strengthen,” it said.

The department added that vaccinated pets should not be showered for at least one week after vaccination.

“Do not let your dog mix with other animals with unknown vaccination status during quarantine and do not let your dog roam freely in public places. Use a leash when going out.
