KUCHING: Veteran politician Datuk Seri Sharifah Mordiah Tuanku Fauzi called on the public to fulfil their duty as voters during the 15th General Election (GE15).

“The general election is not something that always happens, this is the time for us to fulfil our rights by not just talking about changes, but we also have to fulfil our responsibilities to vote.

“We have to make sacrifices to prove our loyalty to the nation,” he said when met by the media at the Maulidur Rasul celebration at the Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PAWE) here on Friday (Oct 21).

Commenting on the increase in flight tickets ahead of GE15, Sharifah suggested that flexibility be given to senior citizens.

Sharifah, who is also the chairman of Kuching PAWE, also urged members to be actively involved in any programme organised by PAWE or the community.

“This is important because PAWE members can be advisors to the community.”
