Vietnamese woman pleads guilty to prostitution

KUCHING: A Vietnamese woman was fined RM2,800, in default three months jail, by the Magistrate’s Court here today for prostitution.

Le Thi Kim Mo, 32, pleaded guilty after the charge was read out by an interpreter in front of magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.

According to the charge, Le was charged under Section 372B of the Penal Code for engaging in prostitution at a reflexology centre in Jalan Lapangan Terbang here, around 12am on April 9.

According to the facts of the case, a police team raided the centre, suspected of being used for prostitution. A condom and RM200 were among the items seized as evidence.

In addition, Le had a temporary work permit valid until September this year and admitted to offering sex services to customers for a fee of RM200.
