PANTU: A water reservoir will be built by the Sarawak Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID) Sri Aman division in order to reduce the problem of drainage system in Pantu town.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in a report, the pool to be built near SJK (C) Chung Hua Pantu, will serve as a reservoir of water which will be channelled from the Pantu town area, government quarters and nearby areas.
It is noted that previously, the area often experienced flash floods due to the existing drainage system.
Apart from that, a larger drainage will also be built to upgrade the existing drainage system in Pantu town area to facilitate drainage to the Batang Strap in Pantu.
