Woman dies after falling from building

KUCHING: The cause of death of the local female found at the shopping mall here is allegedly suicide by jumping.
 
Kuching acting police chief Supt Merbin Lisa said that the police received a call from MERS 999 yesterday (June 1) at 11.14pm informing them that someone had jumped from the parking lot in the said mall.
 
“Investigation at the scene found that a 24-year-old local woman (based on her identity card) was found lying down and was confirmed dead by a medical officer from the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) who was present at the scene.
 
“From the result of the initial examination of the deceased’s body and the scene of the incident, the police did not find the death to have been anything related to crime,” he said in a statement today.
 
He added that the deceased’s body was sent to the Forensic Department of SGH for an autopsy to identify the cause of death.
 
“The case investigation is classified as a sudden death report (SDR),” he said.
