KUCHING: Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) is going fishing.

Its president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh hopes former Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chief, Baru Bian, would join his party.

He said Baru was welcomed provided he shared the vision and mission of the party.

“Our doors are always open. In fact, we welcome all people such as those who fight for justice and equality for all communities in Sarawak,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

Wong admitted, however, that Baru had not been invited to join the party.

Asked if Baru had shown interest in joining PSB, Wong replied, “We don’t know … maybe when the time comes.”

PSB vice-president cum youth chief, Dr Johnical Rayong Ngipa, said if rumours that he had heard turned out to be true, he would welcome Baru into the party.

“Personally, I would be very happy if the rumours were actually facts. Then I would welcome him and his supporters. PSB as a local and multiracial party strives for Sarawak’s unity and fight for the bigger picture especially the struggles of all ethnic groups,” he said.
