KUCHING: Hope Place recently provided basic food aid and baby formula to a young family in need of assistance.

Chin Yu Da, 28, and his wife Siong Siaw Fung, 27, have three children — aged seven, two, and a few months’ old infant.

Chin — who is working as a grass-cutter but earns insubstantial amount — is unable to find proper work to support his family due to his lack of identity card or birth certificate, despite being from Kuching.

He had explained to Hope Place that he did not have identification papers as he was adopted and all the legal papers were lost.

The young family is staying with Chin’s 81-year-old adoptive father in Serian and receives monthly financial aid amounting to RM300 from the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

For more information, contact Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching (PKHK) at 082-505987. Opening hours are from 8.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays, and 8.30am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.
