KUCHING: The state government will continue supporting any effort in providing platforms to nurture young talents in Sarawak.

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said this was necessary in ensuring that the platform would be able to facilitate the development of young talents.

“However, I hope that Tenun would come up with a proper database in future,” he said in his speech yesterday at the closing ceremony of Tenun Week 2019 here at The Hills.

Abdul Karim, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, said that with a proper database, Tenun would be able to further elevate its role in the future.

“This will be the starting point for the platform to grow and improve in setting up the right direction.

“With the right mission, we hope this will encourage more young talents to be involved in cultural programmes,” he added.

Tenun is a collaborative platform that seeks to create globally-recognised cultural artists by providing a platform that facilitates the process of discovery, development and exposure of talents.
