HARARE (Zimbabwe): Zimbabwe has expressed concern over the disproportionate use of force in Gaza and called for a political solution that fosters peace amidst the ongoing clashes in Palestine involving Hamas, the ruling authority in Gaza, and the Israeli regime.

The Zimbabwean Government urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to grant humanitarian workers access to the injured and displaced.

“We extend our deepest condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones and wish the injured a speedy recovery.

“These tragic developments once again highlight the urgent need for the revival of the political process aimed at finding a durable and just solution, which respects the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people as envisaged under the United Nations Resolutions,” reported Zimbabwe’s New Ziana agency, citing the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

The Zimbabwean government expressed concern about the fighting and the indiscriminate targeting of civilians, particularly women and children.
