MIRI: A 10-foot-long crocodile was caught in Kampung Sulap Lada, Bekenu on Saturday night (Feb 27).

According to Zone 6 fire chief, Supt Law Poh Kiong, a team of seven firemen from Batu Niah fire station was deployed to the scene in response to an alert at 8.05pm to help the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) catch the reptile.

It was believed that uncertain weather conditions had forced the reptile to seek a new habitat.

Law added that the operations to catch the reptile began at 8.35pm and ended 22 minutes later.

“The reptile has been handed over to SFC for further action,” he said.
