KUCHING: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau headed the list of 110 recipients of state awards at an investiture ceremony held at the Astana Negeri here on Wednesday (Feb 9).
Dennis is the sole recipient of the Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS) at a ceremonial session officiated by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
Five persons received the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS). They are the director of Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), Serdang Sadi Sujang, Solomon Cheong Sung Voon, Jong Min Kong @ Joseph Yong, Kuing Sieh Chai @ Kung Sieh Chai and Amping Ranggau.
The Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) was awarded to 10 recipients while 20 persons received the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) award.
Meanwhile, 17 other persons received the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) award, among them was chairman of Sarawak Kayan Association (PKS) Kuching Branch, Datin Livan Egang and 17 others – the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS).
The Public Administration Medal – Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) was awarded to 18 recipients, while 22 other civil servants received the Pingat Perkihdmatan Terpuji (PPT).
Present at the ceremony were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, Assistant Minister of Utility and Telecommunication II (Utility) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Assistant Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, Assistant Minister I of Infrastructure and Port Development Aidel Lariwoo.
