144 kindy graduates receive scrolls

BINTULU: As many as 144 kindergarten graduates took part in the Bintulu district Tabika Perpaduan Convocation Ceremony at Plaza Margherita Hotel here last Wednesday (Jan 25).

Special officer to Bintulu MP, Steven Kong Kai Seng who represented Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing officiated at the ceremony.

The convocation was held to celebrate the children, aged six, from 16 Bintulu district Tabika Perpaduan who have completed their studies.

Kong, in his speech, said that the role of parents and teachers are very important in the social and potential development of the children especially in helping nurture human capital from an early age.

He said, as such early childhood education is important in ensuring the pupils’ development that is holistic encompassing physical, emotions, intellect, social and spiritual within a conducive and interactive learning environment.

“I believe the continuous support and cooperation from us can improve a good relationship between the management of the kindergarten and the parents in order to achieve one success to another,” he said.

At the same time, he also hoped that the Tabika Perpaduan could produce and develop a spirit of patriotism for the country and practice good moral values in the children’s daily lives.

That being said, he added that the support from the parents alongside the teachers who provided guidance at the kindergarten level should be continuous apart from always being aware of the children’s development not only from the aspect of intellectual but also the aspect of social, emotional and spiritual.

Meanwhile Kong stated that the graduation ceremony was also a recognition for the children.

“By celebrating them through this ceremony, it gives some sort of inspiration to the children to continue their studies to a higher level,” he added.

Director of Sarawak National Unity and Integration Department Dirwani Azool and Bintulu district unity officer Diana Seliman were also present during the event.
