KAPIT: Some 150 participants took part in Festival Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM FEST@Kapit) which was held at Masjid Jabal An-Nur here, recently.

Various activities were carried out throughout the programme, including ‘Kursus Kefahaman Islam Saudara Kita’, Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme, Khatam Al-Quran, Tadarus Al-Quran, Ramadan Donations and the breaking-the-fast ceremony.

According to YADIM Sarawak director Awang Dulhadi Awang Mat, the objective of the programme was to promote the month of Ramadan, especially through the organising of various Islamic programmes.

Meanwhile, the representative of Kapit Resident Muhamad Amirullah Sulaiman said the month of Ramadan can be a starting point for everyone to change for the better as the YADIM Fest programmes give opportunities for Muslims to appreciate religion more deeply.

“Sarawak is a unique state, diversity is felt and togetherness is well shared, that’s how it is in Kapit,” he said in his speech when officiating at the programme.

During the programme, various agencies such as Tabung Haji, Malayan Banking (Maybank) and The Sarawak Islamic Skill Institute (IKMAS) also participated by holding exhibitions and opening counters.
