160 SJK(C) receive federal aid; more to come

MIRI: A total of 160 out of 192 Chinese national-type primary schools in Sarawak have received financial aid from the federal government to repair school facilities this year.

Lim (second right) is talking to local media after completing her visits to three schools here.

“The remaining schools that have submitted applications for financial assistance to undertake repairs will also receive similar aid as soon as possible,” said Deputy Education Malaysia Lim Hui Ying here.

Lim who was on a working visit called at SJK(C) Chung Hua Lutong, SJK(C)Chung San Miri and SMK Dato Permaisuri Miri.

During her brief visit on Monday, Lim presented cheques amounting to RM350,000 to the three schools  with (SJK(C) Chung Hua Lutong  getting RM150,000); SJK(C) Chung San Miri – RM100,000; and SMK Dato Permaisuri Miri – RM100,000.

On hand to welcome Lim and her entourage were Deputy Minister of Tourism,Creative Industry and Performing Arts  Datuk Sebastian Ting and Sarawak Education director Datu Dr Azhar Ahmad.

Lim was accompanied by Sarawak Democratic Action Party(DAP) chairman Chong Chien Jen.
