SRI AMAN: A ceremony to present appointment letters and extension of appointment letters for the ketua kampung, tuai rumah and kapitan posts in Simanggang constituency was recently held at the Sri Aman District Office on Monday.

Sixteen ketua kampung/tuai rumah/kapitan received their appointment extension certificates while a new ketua kampung and a new kapitan received their appointment letters.

The letters were presented by Assistant Minister of Community Wellbeing and Simanggang assemblyman, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, and witnessed by Sri Aman District Officer Mohd Ashree Wee and a representative of Sri Aman Resident, Joshua.

Earlier, in his speech, Mohd Ashree reminded all new and extended ketua kampung/tuai rumah/kapitan to act proactively and to pledge loyalty to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government which had appointed them.

Harden congratulated all ketua kampung/tuai rumah/kapitan who had been appointed and had their appointments extended. He reminded them to carry out their duties to the best of their abilities and to understand their respective roles.

In line with the current developments and challenges in managing villages and longhouses, ketua kampung/tuai rumah/kapitan will be given key performance indicators (KPI) by the District Office. These performance indicators are important to evaluate the effectiveness of a leader in terms of level of competency.

“Adherence to the rules in managing an organisation must be emphasised so that the organisation’s journey will have a record and transparency, which will reassure its subordinates,” he said.
