KUCHING: The Maal Hijrah 1445H Tabuan Melayu Zone Level celebration parade witnessed a vibrant display of unity as 21 contingents representing mosques in Kampung Tabuan Melayu took part in the event.
The celebration, which marked the second time it has been held, saw a significant increase in participation, with 700 enthusiastic participants gathering as early as 7.30 am.
The parade commenced from Kampung Tabuan Dani and culminated at the grounds of the Darul Hajat Mosque, Kampung Tabuan SPC, drawing a resounding response from the local community.
The contingents, each comprising 30 individuals, tripled in number compared to last year’s participation, signifying the growing enthusiasm and support.
Adding to the celebratory spirit were booths from the National Anti-Drugs Agency Malaysia (AADK), Sarawak Centre of Technical Excellence (CENTEXS), and the Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (MFRD) Kuching.
These displays brought informative and engaging elements to the event, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability and Demak Laut assemblyman, emphasised the significance of unity in ensuring effective government plans that benefit all levels of society.
His speech underscored the theme of the celebration, “Unity at the Core of Civil Malaysia,” which aims to promote unity as a foundational pillar for government stability.
During the parade, Surau Darul Salihin from Kampung Tabuan Tengah emerged as the champion in the Maal Hijrah 1445H Tabuan Malay Zone Stage category, while Kampung Tabuan Lamak 2 claimed victory in the open category.
Also present were Sofhi Jebal, Kuching District Officer and Amzah Dollah, the village head of Tabuan Melayu and Binyuk.
