SIMANGGANG: The Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received 212 emergency calls last year, according to its chief, PPgB Andrew Vengitasamy.

He mentioned that a significant portion of the cases involved specialised services.

“Out of the emergency calls received, 59 were related to fires, while 153 involved specialised services,” he said.

Elaborating further, he acknowledged the challenges in Sri Aman, particularly in terms of the strength of personnel and the logistics of Bomba’s operations.

He made these remarks after the Appreciation Ceremony for the Sri Aman Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department yesterday in which officers who retired or were transferred were feted.

This included PBK II (KUP) Entusan Emping, who retired. PBK II Noorfaqriakmal Jamari is transferred to BBP Siburan after being promoted to KB22 Hakiki.

Meanwhile, PBK II Jeffery Majin moved to BBP Batu Niah after a similar promotion and PB Calestine Hyacinth transferred to the Sarawak Fire Operations Centre (PGO).
