LUNDU: About 300 senior citizens here received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Sunday (May 23).

Sarawak Public Communication Unit said the recipients are those between 70 and 85 years old.

When met, they expressed their gratitude towards the agencies involved in ensuring the smooth process of the vaccination programme.

This includes providing wheelchair services to those who need them.

The first phase of the state Covid-19 Immunisation Programme commenced on Feb 26. It is now at its third phase.

Meanwhile, as of Saturday (May 22), Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee, in a Twitter post, said a total of 1,156,867 Sarawakians have registered for the vaccine, while 147,111 have received the first dose and 89,952 have completed their second dose.

Those who have yet to register for the vaccination can do so via the website (https://www.vaksincovid.gov.my/), MySejahtera app or their nearest District Offices or Resident Offices.
