40 from UiTM Sarawak receive IT devices

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of 19 Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak students from the Bottom 40 (B40) income group received IT devices from the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT).

According a press release from the university, the devices, presented by Sarawak Federal Secretary Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan, were contributed from the social responsibility (CSR) project of the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) Malayisa-UiTM in collaboration with Huawei and Lenovo.

“It proves how much the UiTM Sarawak is particularly concerned with student affairs so that they get the appropriate needs, especially throughout the learning process,” it said.

The presentation took place during the ‘Majlis Ramah Tamah 2023: Gawai Raya’ which was held at the Dewan Jubli, UiTM Sarawak, Samarahan Campus yesterday (May 16).

The university said the celebration was one of the ways to strengthen unity and harmony among the students and staff of UiTM branches who came from various ethnicities, races and cultures.

The event also saw a symbolic launch of the logo for the 50th Golden Jubilee anniversary of UiTM Sarawak establishment by Ahmad Nadzri.

Also present at the ceremony were Rector of UiTM Sarawak Prof. Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali and his wife Datin Marilyn Edna Perreau, assistant Vice-Chancellor of UiTM’s College of Architectural Studies Prof. TPr. Dr Jamalunlaili Abdullah and deputy Rector of Student Affairs Prof. Associate Dr. Saimi Bujang.

At the same event, a total of 100 orphans and underprivileged received duit raya totalling RM10,000 from Rekajaya Project Sdn. Bhd, which is the concession company that manages Samarahan Campus 2.
