KUCHING: The police issued 59 compound notices to individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places on Friday.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said, the police would continue to monitor and enforce the SOPs including, the use of face masks and social distancing in public places.

“Bintulu recorded the most with 30 compounds issued, followed by Kuching (25), as well as one compound each in Kota Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei and Lawas,” the statement read.

Apart from that, police also arrested five persons in Bintulu — an entertainment centre owner and four workers — for operating over time and failing to comply with the SOPs for business premises.
