6 in Sibu receive tuai rumah appointment certs

SIBU: A total of six individuals received certificates of appointment for Tuai Rumah for the Siong area under the Tamin constituency.
 
The six who received the certificate at the Sibu District Office today (March 25) included three who were reappointed, while the other three are new appointments.
 
Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang, who presented the certificate, called on the Tuai Rumah to serve transparently and sincerely and to act as the bridge between the government and the longhouse residents.
 
“Tuai Rumah must also keep in touch with the district office if there is any problem or if you want to submit an application for the development of your longhouse,” he said.
 
Gira also reminded them to always refer to district officers or residents regarding government policies, including development projects if necessary.
 
“It is important as a grassroots leader to have high discipline, integrity and knowledge,” he stressed.
 
Gira said the Tuai Rumah appointment is a unanimous choice from each head of household (KIR) at each longhouse door, and the first appointment period is four years and the extension appointment is two years.
