KUCHING: Police have issued 61 compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the conditional movement control order (CMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs) on Monday (May 3).

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Bintulu recorded the most compounds with 21, followed by Kuching (20), Miri (18) and Padawan (two).

“The violations include failing to provide reasonable excuses for being outside from home during CMCO; carrying out prohibited activities (cockfighting); visiting premises operating past the allowed time; premises operating past the allowed time carrying out prohibited activities in entertainment centres; not wearing face masks; no physical distancing; and failing to scan the MySejahtera app.

“This brings the total amount of compounds issued since Mar 18 last year to 6,194,” SDMC said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Local Government and Housing has issued 10 compounds to business operators of premises under the supervision of various local councils.

There are eight compounds under the Mukah and Dalat District Council and two compounds under Miri City Council.
