LUBOK ANTU: Seven persons who were reported to be floating in the waters of Aiman Resort last evening after their boat capsized have been found safe and sound.

A spokesperson of the Sarawak Fire Department operations centre said they received a distress call about the capsizing event at 6.30pm.

Firemen from Betong station were promptly deployed to the scene, which was roughly 70km away from the station.

According to initial reports, all of the victims, three men and four women, were still floating around the capsized boat’s position.

However, when the firemen and police arrived at the scene, all of the victims had safely reached the resort’s jetty.

They were then taken to the hospital by the police for a medical examination.
