77 get Diamond Jubilee Commemorative medals

KUCHING: A total of 77 individuals were awarded the Diamond Jubilee Commemorative medals in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of Sarawak’s independence.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg presented the medals during an investiture ceremony at the State Legislative Assembly Complex (DUN) here, Wednesday (Aug 16).

The ceremony began with the awarding of Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Medals (Gold) (Pingat Peringatan Cemerlang Jubli Intan (Emas) to 43 recipients.

Leading the list was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, followed by Senate President Tan Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

The other Gold recipients were former Armed Forces Chief General (Rtd) Tun Dr Mohamed Hashim Mohd Ali; Tan Sri Peter Chin Kui Fah; Tan Sri Dr Muhammad Leo Toyad Abdullah; Tan Sri Mohd Jamil Johari; Tan Sri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie; Tan Sri Safri Awang Zaidell; Datuk Seri Abang Karim Tun Openg; Datuk Joseph Salang; Datuk Pandelela Rinong Pamg and Tania Bugo.

Federal ministers from Sarawak were also among the 43 recipients namely National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang; Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang; Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Deputy Minister of Economy Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib; Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii and Deputy Minister of Health Lukanisman Awang Sauni.

The rest of the recipients of the Gold medal were Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Datuk Idris Buang; Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, Datuk Liwan Lagang, Datuk Rosey Yunus, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapa’ee, Datuk Dr Malcom Mussen Lamoh, Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Datuk Abdullah Saidol, Datuk Sebastian Ting, Datuk Gerawat Gala, Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, Aidel Lariwoo, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, Dr Ripin Lamat, Mohamad Razi Sitam, Martin Ben, Datuk Majang Renggi, Jefferson Jamit Unyat, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu and Michael Tiang.

Following that, a total of 32 out of 34 recipients received the Diamond Jubilee Excellent Commemorative Silver medals.

They were Datuk Doreen Mayang; Datin Seri Enn Ong Siok Ean; Datuk Fatimah Mohd Iskandar; Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi; Datuk Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel; Datuk Buckland Bangik; Datuk Misnu Taha; Datuk Wee Hong Seng; Datuk Junaidi Reduan; Adam Yii Siew Sang; Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri; Leftenan General Datuk Stephen Mundaw (B); Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai; Datuk Awang Bujang Awang Antek; Datuk Ose Murang; Datuk Hamzah Drahman; Datuk Abdul Ghafur Shariff; Datuk Loling Othman Alwi; Datuk Bishop Danald Jute; Datuk Dr Adi Badiozaman Tuah; Leftenan General Datuk Awie Suboh (B); Datuk Nahrawi Abdul Rahman; Leftenan Colonel Robert Rizal Abdullah; Leftenan (B) David Fu Chee Ming; Beliang Bali, Sergeant Mering Imang; Sergeant Dajai Anggie; Corporal Unggek Antin; Lance Corporal (B) Sigai Nawan; Lance Corporal Bajau Ladi; Andrewson Ngalai and Safar Ghafar.

Datuk Laura Lee Ngien Hion and Grace Wong Xiu Mei were not present.

Also present at the ceremony were Abang Johari’s wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang; Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and State Secretary Datuk Amar Abu Bakar Marzuki.

Last month, the Premier also presented the Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Medal in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of Sarawak’s independence to 51 recipients.
