Curtin Malaysia’s Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Beena Giridharan was present during the event with Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science Associate Professor Vincent Lee, heads and academic staff of the various departments, and officers from the University Life Department.

In her speech, Giridharan congratulated the soon-to-be-graduates on their determination and hard work in their studies and thanked three alumni of the faculty who were present for sharing their post-graduation journeys with the students.

The alumni were civil and construction engineering graduate Kelvin Yiing Shii Haw, chemical engineering graduate Pauline Ting and mechanical engineering Harleen Atica David, who shared their experiences entering industry for the first time as fresh graduates, their ongoing careers as industry professionals, and insights into their respective industries.

In congratulating the three alumni on their outstanding success in industry, Giridharan expressed hope that alumni of the university will stay connected with their alma-mater by giving such talks to inspire current students, being guest lecturers, assisting in getting internships and job placements for current students and graduates in their companies, and becoming industry representatives on its faculty advisory panels.
