MUKAH: Two fishermen were arrested for possessing drugs during a raid at a house here on Thursday (July 23).

Mukah district police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said the suspects were arrested at an unnumbered house in Kampung Sungai Alo here.

He added during the raid at about 3.20pm, police found a small plastic packet containing pieces of crystal suspected to be methamphetamine weighing about 0.28g on the floor, and another packet of the same drug weighing about 0.17g inside a pouch on the floor inside the bedroom shared by both suspects.

“The suspect, aged 27 and 30 years, were brought to the police station for further investigation, and urine test found that they were drug positive,” he said in a statement on Friday (July 24).

According to him, the suspects were remanded for three days from July 24 until July 27 to facilitate investigation under Section 12 (2) 1 and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
