BUNGIN, Saribas: Future recipients of village expansion scheme (SPK) projects in the state are lucky as the state government not only provides build-ready lots, but it would also be completed with basic facilities.

Saribas assemblyman Mohammad Razi Sitam said in Saribas, the government will develop the second phase of the Kampung Bungin SPK project that costs RM5.05 million.

“The allocation will be used for the construction of concrete drains, paved roads, and more.

“Meanwhile, basic utilities such as water pipes have been completed during the first phase of construction, including electrical connection works,” he said.

He said this after inspecting the second phase of the Kampung Bungin SPK project site here on Sunday.

Razi believes that once it is complete, it will benefit the residents of Kampung Bungin.

It is also understood that 96 additional lots will be provided in the next phase.

Razi stated that at the same time, two SPK projects are being implemented in the Saribas constituency, namely at Kampung Mangut and Kampung Serembang.

He also stressed that the government’s readiness to implement the SPK projects is due to the increasing population in the villages.

“The SPK project requires a big allocation as there are several villages involved, like in Saribas here, so the people should appreciate it.

“The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government is aware of the current needs of those staying in rural areas. I hope another project like this will be approved for Saribas in the future,” he said.

Razi also called on the people of Saribas to give their full support to GPS in the coming state election.
