KUCHING: The Raintree Restaurant at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) is inviting couples to spend Valentine’s Day with them.

Priced at RM300 per couple, the restaurant will prepare an extravagant five-course meal, prepared with the finest ingredients.

To start off the night, an appetiser of salmon gravlax tartare is served with fresh seaweed, ebiko caviar, fresh beet and a passion fruit reduction sauce. For the second course, a hake fillet will be served accompanied by grilled leek, asparagus, wild pegaga sauce and shellfish oil.

A refreshing sorbet served with orange and sour plum fruit will be part of The Raintree Restaurant’s Valentine’s Day dinner.

As for the main course, guests have two options to choose from — the first being short rib beef served with potato spinach puree, sautéed wild mushroom, roasted pumpkin, and shallot confit.

The second option is roast lamb shoulder, served with red pepper, black olive and sour eggplant tapenade, roasted pineapple, mint oil, garlic velouté and potato maxim.

The slow-cooked short rib beef promises to offer a tantalising culinary experience.

To wrap up the night, dessert will be a red velvet cake with butter cream cheese and a chocolate cigar, accompanied by a cup of coffee or tea.

Couples will also receive complimentary chocolate pralines, with a single rose for the women.

The Raintree Restaurant and BCCK gave their assurance that the food prepared is  in accordance to strict international requirements and hygiene standards, and is also halal-certified by the Department of Islamic Affairs of Sarawak (Jais).

Standard Covid-19 safety measures such as physical distancing and wearing face masks are also practised at all times.
