KUCHING: Tzu Chi Foundation Kuching donated 10 units of high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) recently.

The foundation said other medical items, including five intensive care unit beds with monitoring devices, 14 sets of 6-in-1 fluid management system and 20 individual units of syringe pump would also be donated to SGH.

The items are expected to arrive in Kuching in July, and the foundation added: “We would like to thank the public for their support. As of Tuesday (June 29), more than 2,500 donations have been received.”

“Not only that, the fundraiser exceeded its goal of RM880,000,” it said in a statement on Wednesday (June 30).

The foundation welcomed all to support the cause, which would benefit the communities.

Meanwhile, SGH director Dr Ngian Hie Ung expressed her thanks to the foundation and donors.

“The HFNC is a type of oxygen support machine, and is important for patients with Covid-19 or breathing difficulty,” she explained.
