KUCHING: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) handed out Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Self Single Test Kits to hawkers and traders at the Stutong Community Market on Thursday (Oct 7).

As part of the MBKS and Kuching South Hawkers and Traders Association’s Awareness Campaign, Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Send and his councillors presented the self-test kits to Stutong Market Liaison Committee Tan Choon Yang.

According to Wee, the campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of self-discipline in assimilating to the new norm.

“A weekly random test of hawkers and traders under MBKS jurisdiction will be conducted with the goal of instilling the habit of conducting Covid-19 self-tests among hawkers,” he said.

At the same time, Wee took the opportunity to extend his appreciation to the hawkers for their cooperation.

He reminded all business premises under MBKS to cultivate a culture of self-testing as a precautionary measure to protect themselves and others.
