KOTA SAMARAHAN: Women have been urged to venture into business to diversify their sources of income as well as uplift their living standards.

“The trend of women getting into business has skyrocketed over the past few years,” said Stakan assemblyman Datuk Hamzah Brahim.

“I often came across women from the Peninsular who are successful entrepreneurs, especially from Kelantan.

“In recent years, Sarawak women also have started to get involved in various businesses. However, not many dare to take up the challenge and develop their business to the next level,” he said at the Entrepreneurship Pilot Programme hosted by KEMAS Sarawak at the Institute For Rural Advancement (INFRA) here on Friday (June 10).

“So, seize any opportunities available to advance yourself,” he advised.

The three-day programme was attended by 67 women, providing them with useful input. Participants were also taught on how to use social media as a medium to promote their business.

“Starting with KEMAS, which will guide you to polish your skills and knowledge by organising related courses and programmes.

“If your business is thriving and you are ready to expand, we have many opportunities for you to explore,” Hamzah added.
