LUNDU: A total of 389 pupils showed their talents at the Lundu District Kids Got Talent 2018 competition. They were also involved in various activities such as drawing, colouring, story-telling, poetry, dancing, singing and Merdeka Glam match.
According to Tanjong Datu State Assemblywoman, Datuk Amar Jamilah Haji Anu, the contest was held to enhance the students’ confidence while performing in front of members of the public.
“In fact, it can boost motivation which is an important aspect of early childhood education including being positive, knowledgeable and more open and with the desire to try,” Jamilah said at the closing and prize presentation ceremony of the Lundu District Kids Got Talent 2018 competition in conjunction with a Pre-School Carnival at SK Rambungan, here yesterday.
According to her, the early stages of childhood are very important periods in the development of children.
Hence, she urged parents to give their full support and encouragement to their children as they will become the state’s future human capital. Jamilah also acknowledged parents’ support in the development of their children’s physical activities which can prevent them from becoming ‘slaves’ of modern gadgets which could undermine the development of their children’s characters.
Touching on the event, Jamilah commended the parents’ efforts and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK Rambungan and preschools of Satang Zone for organising the event. In support of the event, Jamilah announced a RM5,000 MRP grant to the PTA of SK Rambungan.
