Delta Mall management notifying customers only 50 are allowed at its premises at any one time.

Mall installs body scanners

KUCHING: More malls in the state are installing body scanners for temperature measurement.

Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman, Clarence Ting had praised Delta Mall for leading the way to ensure public safety.

“This is the first mall in Sibu to install body scanners for its staff and customers.

“There are two units — one at the main entrance and another one at the supermarket entrance,” he said in his Facebook post yesterday.

On the crowd control, Ting said the mall only allowed 50 customers in the mall at any one time.

“During this double festival season, there will be a lot of shoppers. As such, it is good to see the mall putting in place these measures to ensure public safety.

“I hope to see more malls in Sibu installing similar crowd control measures,” he said.

Besides Delta Mall in Sibu, VivaCity Megamall in Kuching has also installed a thermal body scanner.
