KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg paid his last respects to the late Mohd Sabari Sakeran at the latter’s home at Taman Lebunda, Lorong Sourabaya Indah here on Tuesday (July 7).

Mohd Sabari was formerly the general manager of Kuching Water Board (KWB) from Aug 5, 2011.

Previously, he served as divisional engineer in Samarahan and headed the Public Works Department (PWD) water supply unit, according to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

Mohd Sabari collapsed suddenly while performing zikir after solat isyak before he was rushed to Sarawak General Hospital on Monday evening. He did not regain consciousness and was later pronounced dead.

He was actively involved with associations and was formerly the president of Persatuan Perguruan Silat Angkatan Hati 12 and also served as advisor to KEWARISMA.

His remains were later buried at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Semariang after solat zohor.
