Agong And Permaisuri embark on Hajj journey

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah have commenced their sacred Hajj pilgrimage today (Jun 21) in the Holy Land.

The departure ceremony took place at the Istana Negara and was graced by the presence of Melaka’s Governor Tun Mohd Ali Rustam, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Before their departure, the King imparted a message to the prime minister, emphasising the importance of safeguarding the nation.

The royal couple is expected to remain in the Holy Land from June 21 to July 2, undertaking the significant rites of the Hajj.

The Saudi Arabian government has officially announced that the auspicious Day of Arafah (Wukuf) will be observed on Tuesday, June 27th.

Back in Malaysia, Muslims will celebrate Aidiladha (Eid al-Adha) on June 29th.
