SIBU: Alumni of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Saint Matthew Sekuau (M) Selangau are encouraged to unite and contribute to the ongoing development of their alma mater.

Borneo MA Smart Vendors Sdn Bhd chairman Alexander Kadir Dato emphasised the indebtedness of alumni to the school for their success.

“We are who we are today because of our school. This is where everything began. I hope the younger generation remembers this and contributes to the school,” he said.

He said this in his welcoming speech at the school alumni dinner, officiated by Selangau MP Edwin Banta, at a renowned hotel here last night (Jan 20).

During the event, Alexander, who is the son of the late school founder Dato Paran, announced that BMAS donated a total of RM50,000, while its partner F&J Smart Marketing contributed RM5,000 to the school.

Meanwhile, school headmistress Ellyne Tong Siew Hua emphasised that alumni contributions extend beyond monetary support.

“Alumni can assist through various activities with students and contribute their expertise, connections, and experiences to the school,” she said.
