Association helps out Miri Bomba

MIRI: A total 12 sets of electric drum pumps (20 litres) and electric spray blowers were presented to Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) by the Miri Hakka Association on Tuesday (Aug 24) to help expedite their daily sanitisation works.

Receiving the equipment on behalf Miri Bomba was Zone 6 fire chief Supt Law Poh Kiong.

According to Law, the equipment would be distributed among four fire stations — Batu Niah fire station, Marudi fire station, Lopeng fire station and Miri Central.

“Previously, we relied on manual equipment to carry out our sanitisation operations.

“With this new equipment, it would make our task easier as well as speed up the work,” he said.

Meanwhile, Law thanked the association and its president Datuk Lee Kim Shin for their contributions.

He also expressed his appreciation to various non-governmental organisations (NGOs), association and members of the public who have continuously given their support to Miri Bomba.
