KAPIT: Tai San Ten Association Kapit held a pre-Chinese New Year gathering at Kapit Civic Centre here on Sunday evening.

Officiating at the function were Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat and Julau MP Larry Sng Wei Shien, who is also the advisor of the association.

Jamit in his speech said that in Kapit, the spirit of togetherness is very strong because the community work together to bring more development.

“The spirit of togetherness is very strong. Kapit is a small community and we work closely among one another. We are Kapit people. It is very important to foster close comradeship to bring more development to Kapit,” Jamit said.

He also expressed happiness at the strong support from the various communities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

“I have observed various NGOs during the Chinese New Year dinner presenting ‘ang pow’ to their elders. This is commendable because by doing so, the younger generation remember the contribution of the elders towards the association,” he said.
