KUCHING: Bau received an allocation of RM450 million for the development of the district from the RM1.5 billion budget under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA).

Deputy Minister of Transport and also Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said the allocation is important so that Bau can thrive and to speed up its development for the people.

“I urged all the community leaders in Bau and the state and federal agencies in the area to work together to ensure that we can realise the dream of a Greater Bau and Greater Kuching.

Henry delivers his speech at the ceremony.

“We also have done research on how to spend the money, especially on projects that need funds to ensure the implementation can be done in a timely manner,” he said.

The allocation for Bau is a combination of the three state constituencies, where Tasik Biru, Opar, and Serembu each received RM150 million of the RM450 million.

At the Bau Sekalung Budi Appreciation Ceremony held at the Grand Margherita Hotel here last night (April 14), Henry also called for support from government agencies to be able to develop the Bau area within six years.
