Be ready, Fatimah tells election machinery

OYA: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sarawak Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah called on the local election machinery to always be ready.

Fatimah, who is also Dalat PBB chief, said although the actual date of the state election had yet to be known, the election machinery must be prepared from now onwards.

“The preparations, among others, include the setting up of organisational chart, and the operations room mobilised,” she said during a dialogue with Kampung Kuala Tengah Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), PBB committee and beliawanis (female youth) here on Tuesday (July 21).

The Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister and Dalat assemblywoman also discussed about the village development projects.

At the dialogue, she also witnessed the handover of certificate of registration of JKKK Kampung Kuala Tengah, certificate of appointment of JKKK secretary, as well as Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) flags to PBB sub-branch chief, women and youth sub-branch chiefs and beliawanis.

Fatimah also handed over minor rural project (MRP) grants totalling RM4,000 to eight JKKK under Majlis Ketua  Masyarakat dan Ketua Kaum Daerah Kecil Oya  for making new additional desks to be used at Oya Square here.

A cheque totaling RM17,000 was also handed to Kampung Kuala Tengah JKKK to finance the improvement of facilities in the village.
