BINTULU: The public was shocked by the discovery of a man’s body in a ditch near Jalan Batu 7, Taman Sibiyu here, yesterday.
The unidentified body was found by local residents at about 10.50am before informing the authorities.
Head of the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department, Wan Kamaruddin Wan Ahmad said a team rushed to the location immediately after receiving an emergency call at 10.56am following the discovery.
“When the fire brigade arrived at the scene, we found the body of an unidentified man in the ditch.
“We helped lift the body with a stretcher and then handed it over to the police for further action. After making sure that the situation is under control and safe, the fire department returned to the station,” he said.
So far, no follow-up report has been received regarding the discovery.
People who have missing family members or have related information can are urged to contact the nearest police station.
