MIRI: Members of the newly established Miri Division Farmers Association have been told to adopt smart farming to boost productivity.

Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin said this is crucial to help facilitate better crop growth in ensuring better income which benefits the farmers.

“Learn new ways in farming to increase your productivity,” he said when speaking at the launching of the association here today.

On the other hand, Lee reminded the association members to protect the environment by practising sustainable farming.

“Avoid open burning as it can cause pollution to our environment, find alternatives to open burning,” he told the crowd present.

At the event, Lee pledged allocation worth RM6,000 to the association. A total of 47 members of the association were present at the launching.
