SIBU: A car crashed into a ditch and landed on its side; Fire and Rescue Department personnel were notified of the incident but when they arrived at the scene, neither the driver nor the passenger(s) were inside or anywhere near the vehicle.
This was the scenario that confronted firefighters in the wee hours of the morning at Jalan Kanowit-Durin here, today.
According to a Bomba spokesman, a team was dispatched to the scene following a call at 4.21 am.
“Upon arrival, the firefighters found in a ditch on the right side of the road heading towards Kanowit town.
“The accident was believed to have happened after the driver lost control of his vehicle and skidded off the road.
“However, the firefighters found nobody inside the car,” he said.
At press time the mystery continues as Bomba is still clueless as to who the driver was.
