KUCHING: A total of 180 seamstresses will be recruited into the Juma’ani Pavilion Sewing Community Squad in the next three years.

General manager of Central for Technical Excellence (CENTEXS) Commercial Mohamad Shahren Mohamad Yusri this is the initial target and that more people are welcome to join the community.

“At this moment, we only have 20 seamstresses in the community.

“If we can have at least 50 seamstresses by the end of this year that would be enough.

“The target is for us to have 180 seamstresses over the next three years,” he said, welcoming those who have basic skills in sewing to participate in the community.

“We provide this job space for them so that they can generate income.

“Their fixed income can be RM1,500 to RM2,000, but if they work harder, their income can be RM3,500 to RM4,000,” he said after the Juma’ani Pavilion Production Centre launching at its building on Monday (Sept 1).
