KUCHING: The SeDidik childcare centre (TASKA) at MASJA building (BaitulMakmur) in Kuching is expected to be operational in May 2024.

Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Sri Fatimah Abdullah, in a statement, said that TASKA is part of the ministry’s initiative under the Bantuan Geran Penubuhan Taska di Tempat Kerja with an of RM150,000.

The child care centre will occupy the ground floor of MASJA building, which belong to Lembaga Amanah Kemajuan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS).

Fatimah hoped that the new TASKA centre would become a support system towards working parents.

“The centre will provide facilities to the public servants who are working in MASJA building and nearby offices to get the child care service and early education for their kids.

“The most important thing is that TASKA would provide facilities to the mothers who breastfeed their babies,” she added.

As of August of this year, there are 2,803 registered kindergartens and 224 registered child care centres (TASKA) in Sarawak.
