KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has lauded the Sarawak Pui Clan Association for its dedication to fostering academic excellence through education awards.
This initiative, according to Yap, plays a vital role in motivating the youth towards achieving greater academic success.
Highlighting the broader impact, he said that nurturing a well-educated people align with the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030’s potential to attract international investors, thereby increasing employment opportunities.
“A person with a good education will also be able to get better-paying jobs,” he said in a statement today (Mar 17).
Yap also praised the association’s contributions to various societal causes, including charity, welfare, cultural preservation, the development of Chinese education, talent development, and the broader Sarawak Chinese community and national building efforts.
To further support the association’s activities, Yap announced an allocation of a RM3,000 grant.
