KUCHING: Similar to the popular saying that charity begins at home, so should cleanliness start right at home.

Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said it is important for the people to have a mindset to uphold and prioritise cleanliness regardless of where they are.

“The people of Lundu should be proud because Lundu township is one of the cleanest towns in Sarawak.

“And this is in line with its motto to be a clean tourist destination for visitors whether in terms of infrastructure, places to eat or sanitary facilities,” he said.

He was speaking at the Lundu District Cleanliness Month programme organised by the Lundu District Council at the Lundu Town Square recently.

He said the commitment to cleanliness should begin at one’s own home.

In another development, Azizul took the opportunity to inspect the six development projects in Telok Melano yesterday (July 17).

Among them is the visit to the Anjung Usahawan project site, which is still under construction. He also listened to a briefing by a consultant during a visit to the Telok Melano Mosque project site.
