Cobra under washing machine gives woman a fright

The venomous snake was caught in less than 10 minutes.

MIRI: A 48-year-old woman at a teachers quarters in Lutong here on Tuesday (April 11) had a fright when she encountered a cobra under her washing machine.

Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) said in a statement that the poisonous snake was discovered when the woman was about to do her laundry.

Terrified, she immediately called Miri APM for help.

Upon receiving the distress call at about 2.40pm, four APM personnel rushed to the location.

The 1m-long cobra was captured in less than 10 minutes. It was later released into the wild, far away from residential areas.
