ROBAN: Every resident’s application through the village chief for the Rural Electrification Project (RES) must be ensured to be complete.

Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said that the RES Project is a government initiative aimed at providing electricity supply to villages and longhouses in rural areas that are not connected to the main grid system.

“The appointed RES contractor will carry out the installation of lines, while Sarawak Energy will serve as the technical advisor and coordinate operations and maintenance once it’s completed.

“Meaning, before it can be executed, the village chief or tuai rumah must scrutinise each application, especially in ensuring that the specified criteria are met, along with a complete form.

“This is what I explained while visiting Rumah Panjang Renggi Plunga Atas, to ensure that residents’ applications are complete and the subsequent process can be carried out promptly,” he said this after conducting a visit to the longhouse here recently.

“We also do not want any new applications to be left behind.
