MIRI: The completion of a concrete bridge to the cemetery at Kampung Pengkalan, Lutong will provide convenience to villagers there, especially when they visit the cemetery.

Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the RM100,000 project was funded through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for Senadin constituency.

He said the works involved the construction of a 10-metre concrete bridge to replace the old wooden bridge which has worn out over the years.

“It was a request from the villagers here through their ketua kaum,” said the Senadin assemblyman when visiting the site of the completed project here today (April 15).

He said the project commenced on Jan 11 and was completed on March 10.

“This is especially for villagers who wish to visit the cemetery here,” said Lee.

Also present was Ketua Kaum Ali Mat.
